Cameron hits all the right notes at club

ELEVEN-YEAR- OLD Cameron MacIs­sac has been crowned Fort Wil­liam Ac­cor­dion and Fid­dle Club's most im­proved young player of the year, tak­ing home the top prize from the club’s fi­nal show.

The club wel­comed a great turnout at its fi­nal night of the sea­son ear­lier this month when Cameron re­ceived the Wil­lie MacKil­lop Memo­rial Tro­phy.

Around 45 peo­ple at­tended the event, with 10 mu­si­cians tak­ing turns on the stage to play.

Cameron started play­ing when he was seven and has been at­tend­ing the club for three years. This was the sec­ond year Cameron has won the award. An­drew MacDon­ald from the club told the Lochaber

Times: ‘It was a very good even­ing with a lot of pos­i­tive com­ments for the lo­cal play­ers.

‘ We host the club the first Tues­day of the month from Oc­to­ber to May with a guest band play­ing each month, ex­cept the last month where we just have a night of lo­cal mu­si­cians.’
