Bus company starts new services and tours
A BUS company is expanding its Oban tours and services.
West Coast Motors, which operates City Sightseeing Oban and other bus routes in the town, is introducing three new Oban tours.
Until September 24, City Sightseeing Oban will operate Oban to Altantic Bridge, Oban to Connel Bridge, and Oban to Connel and Easdale.
Ranging from one hour to two hours and 35 minutes, the tours not only capture the bustling town and its harbour, but also provide the opportunity to discover and explore some of the West Coast’s most breathtaking countryside and seascape.
The tours will operate daily with a newly refurbished opentop double decker vehicle.
The company has also in- creased the frequency of its service 5/405 Oban to Dunbeg. The route takes in a number of local attractions, including Dunstaffnage Castle and Ocean Explorer Centre.
West Coast Motors is hoping the additional tours and summer service will encourage more people out of cars and ease the town’s traffic congestion.
Russell Dods, Oban and Mull area manager, said: ‘During the summer months we experience an increase in the volume of cars on the roads in and around the town.
‘Our enhanced route and tours, which are serving the areas main attractions and locations, should hopefully encourage both visitors and local people to ditch the car and hop on the bus.’
