Lochaber men’s team finish third in Scottish Championship
LOCHABER Athletics Club’s Finlay Wild saw great success at a recent championship.
Fourteen LAC members took part in the third Scottish Championship event recently, at Brodick on the Isle of Arran.
LAC’s Finlay came in a close second in 1:13:35, just one minute 24 seconds after the winner. It was almost a second course record win for Finlay in the space of a few days following his win in Keswick, but Murray Strain (HBT) was even faster and now holds the new record.
The Lochaber men’s team finished in third place, John Yells, Stuart Crutchfield and Richard MacLeod backing up Finlay. Other LAC runners taking part were Stephen Monk, Gavin Macmillan, Ali Kennedy, Alan Lamont, Niall MacBeath, Suzy Devey, Robert MacLean, Susan Jane Ross, Jim Hamilton and Ray Murdoch.
A spokesperson for LAC said: ‘Thanks to Shettleston Harriers for organising the event, Arran Mountain Rescue on the hill and the catering crew for the fine spread.’
