Lochaber men’s team fin­ish third in Scot­tish Cham­pi­onship

LOCHABER Ath­let­ics Club’s Fin­lay Wild saw great suc­cess at a re­cent cham­pi­onship.

Four­teen LAC mem­bers took part in the third Scot­tish Cham­pi­onship event re­cently, at Brod­ick on the Isle of Ar­ran.

LAC’s Fin­lay came in a close sec­ond in 1:13:35, just one minute 24 sec­onds af­ter the win­ner. It was al­most a sec­ond course record win for Fin­lay in the space of a few days fol­low­ing his win in Keswick, but Mur­ray Strain (HBT) was even faster and now holds the new record.

The Lochaber men’s team fin­ished in third place, John Yells, Stu­art Crutch­field and Richard MacLeod back­ing up Fin­lay. Other LAC run­ners tak­ing part were Stephen Monk, Gavin Macmil­lan, Ali Kennedy, Alan La­mont, Niall MacBeath, Suzy Devey, Robert MacLean, Su­san Jane Ross, Jim Hamil­ton and Ray Mur­doch.

A spokesper­son for LAC said: ‘Thanks to Shet­tle­ston Har­ri­ers for or­gan­is­ing the event, Ar­ran Moun­tain Res­cue on the hill and the cater­ing crew for the fine spread.’
