Dram fine festival visits Jura
JURA Distillery manager Graham Logan guided dram lovers around the copper stills in the island’s only whisky distillery during last Thursday’s Jura Tastival.
The event was part of the annual Feis Ile, which attracts whisky fans from all over the world to distillery open days on Islay and neighbouring Jura each year.
For one day the Craighouse distillery threw open its doors to host ‘all-terrain’ whisky tastings, live entertainment in the cooperage, including music from legendary Scots trad band RURA and Coaltown Daisies, and ‘the Jura long table’ in the grainstore for guests to ‘dine with the Diurachs’ over local produce paired with a dram of single malt. Mr Logan said it was ‘all in all, a very successful year at Feis Ile, and we’re looking forward to next year’.
