Thanks to kind duo who helped after fall

The Oban Times - - Letters -

Sir, In the course of a sailing holiday, I was walking through Oban on May 14 this year when I tripped and hit my head.

Two people, a man and a woman, immediately came to my aid. They were outstandingly kind. When they had assessed the situation, the young man, who was wearing an Oban High School top and clearly had some knowledge of first aid, first reunited me with my wife.

She was shopping separately from me and in my dazed condition I would have had difficulty in finding her. He then took charge of us and got us to Oban hospital, where I received first- rate overnight monitoring. At the time I was not really in a condition to thank these two very kind individuals adequately for all they did for me.

My wife and I very much appreciated the help we received, and I write this letter in the hope that they will learn how much it was appreciated.

I have made a small donation to an Oban charity. When there is so much bad news around, it is welcome to be reminded that there are also so many good people. Walter Reid, Beauly, Bridge of Weir.
