AN AVOWED mission to play on all inhabited Scottish islands brought multi-award winning Gaelic band Daimh to the Atlantic Islands Centre on the Isle of Luing on Tuesday May 30 with a strong reputation preceding them.

Their blend of instruments creating music evoking pathos and lyrical drama, with a sub-structure of ironic humour had the audience sailing across oceans of emotion.

It’s easy to understand the band’s appeal as Gaelic Singer of the Year (MG Alba Scottish Music Awards) Ellen McDonald punctuated the outstanding instrumentals with a great voice.

Organisers said: ‘We thank Daimh for including Luing in their tour – they left a full house on a rolling wave of appreciation.’

Diamh entertained in the Atlantic Islands Centre.
