FASLANE patrol boat HMS Tracker continued her journey around Scotland and Northern Ireland in the final stages of her deployment.
HMS Tracker left Stornoway on Sunday May 28 and completed a transit south calling into Portree, Kyle of Lochalsh, Tobermory, Craobh and arrived in Port Rush in Northern Ireland on Thursday June 1.
While in Stornaway the crew took part in a training exercise with the Search and Rescue ( SAR) helicopter before moving on to Tobermory to take part in sea training with the RNLI.
The sea training involved the modified P200 Archer class patrol vessel teaming up with the all-weather lifeboat Elizabeth Fairlie Ramsey. The two crews spent the day transferring personnel from boat to boat allowing the RNLI team to simulate trying to get on and off vessels in need.
Once the crews had perfected the ability to move between the two vessels, they took part in a number of casualty handling exercises, which involved the transfer of casualties on stretchers from one boat to another.
The teams finished off by taking the opportunity to pass towing equipment to complete a very successful day’s training.
