Luing bid to measure tide

-

AN APPLICATION by Luing Community Council to explore the tidal resource within Cuan Sound is published in today’s Oban Times.

The sound separates the Isle of Luing from the mainland.

The proposal to deploy two tidal gauge instruments to measure the tidal height on either side of the sound will begin in July for 35 days. Each tidal gauge instrument weighs one kilogram and is 110mm by 450mm long.

Each will be secured on the seabed by a buoy. Luing Community Council has discussed the survey with CalMac.
