Volunteers join in clean-up at Soroba viewpoint

The Oban Times - - News -

SATURDAY saw the first clear-up in preparation for the Viewpoint Oban Community Centre.

Twenty or so hardy volunteers came out in the drizzling rain to start the mammoth task of clearing the site next to the railway line where a new community centre serving the whole of Oban will be built.

From 11am, Chris and Ronnie from RM Tree Services, and Hire and Supplies from Mill Lane, along with Man and a Van George Berry took on the unenviable task of clearing logs, branches, debris and log after log from the site.

The group was helped by a willing band of volunteers from the Soroba community, Oban Community Council, five Oban councillors, students from the Scottish Association for Marine Science, The Oban Times and Soroba Community Centre.

Hardy souls turned out to help with the clean-up.
