Com­mitte asked to back park­ing limit

MEM­BERS of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Trans­porta­tion and In­fra­struc­ture Com­mit­tee will be asked to ap­prove the stan­dard­i­s­a­tion of a two-hour, no-re­turn pe­riod across all pay and dis­play car parks in Stornoway town cen­tre, at a meet­ing of the com­mit­tee on Wed­nes­day June 14.

In March 2016, the comhairle agreed to an ini­tial phase of ex­tend­ing pay and dis­play park­ing in the town cen­tre which in­cluded ex­tend­ing charge­able park­ing to the for­mer Fish­er­man’s car park and to the ar­eas of South Beach ad­ja­cent to the Star Inn and the Cale­do­nian Ho­tel, and the re­ten­tion of non- charge­able park­ing pro­vi­sion at No 1 Pier.
