Tober­mory mu­si­cian is guest of hon­our at club

The Na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion of Ac­cor­dion and Fid­dle Clubs has an­nounced that Tober­mory mu­si­cian Alas­dair Ma­cleod will be guest of hon­our at celebrity lunch.

The as­so­ci­a­tion lunch takes place this Sun­day June 25 at the Hunt­ing­tower in Perth.

Alas­dair Ma­cleod, who is the son of the leg­endary Mull ac­cor­dion mae­stro Bobby Mac leod, has had a long ca­reer as a dou­ble bass player hav­ing played with many of the lead­ing Scot­tish dance bands and well mer­its this award for ser­vices to the mu­sic.

This is an hon­our given for ser­vices to Scot­tish dance mu­sic. Other peo­ple to be so hon­oured are Vi­o­let Tul­loch from Shet­land and Ge­orge Darling from Ed­in­burgh.

Well-known broad­caster Rob­bie Shep­herd MBE, who re­cently re­tired af­ter many years pre­sent­ing the Take the Floor pro­gramme on BBC Ra­dio Scot­land, is awarded Hon­orary Life Mem­ber­ship of the As­so­ci­a­tion.
