West Highland Tennis Championships get under way on Friday
THE WEST Highland Tennis Week will get into full swing this weekend at Atlantis Leisure, with more than 50 competitors taking part.
Players from America, England and Scotland will compete, with the winner being decided on Sunday.
However, the star of the tournament could well be a tennis shirt.
A Rodger Federer signed tennis top will be raffled this week, with the proceeds going to the DMI Cancer Trust and the West Highland Tennis Week.
Mary McLean, who will be refereeing the tournament, said: ‘Stuart Fraser, a former tennis club member and tennis journalist, was interviewing Rodger Federer and mentioned the DMI charity.

Raffle tickets can be purchased from Atlantis Leisure, Coasters and the Sport Shop, with the winner being announced on Sunday.
‘We are hoping to get a good response from people,’ Mary added. ‘We have been lucky to get that and we are very excited about it.’
The tournament will commence on Friday at 9am, with games being played until 9pm.
It will be a similar set up on Saturday, and the finals on Sunday are scheduled for 1pm.
