KINLOCHLEVEN High School pupils celebrated their success as sixth-year pupils got ready to leave.

Ross, Skye and Lochaber MP Ian Blackford was guest speaker and handed out awards at the closing assembly of Kinlochleven High School.

He congratulated pupils and staff on their achievements throughout the year and wished leavers well as they move on to jobs and further education.

He said: ‘It is always a privilege for me to come here and and find out what you have been doing. I am very impressed. I know many of you played an important part in making sure the Syrian refugees came here, in making them welcome and influencing others to do the same. Kinlochleven is a special place and the school is a real credit to the village. I congratulate you on your achievements and it is my great pleasure to present you with awards recognising what you have done.’
