GLENCOE Heritage Trust has received a generous donation of £2,300 from Colin and Norma MacInnes of the Clan MacInnes Asociation UK/Australia.
Thanks to the late Donald MacInnes, who lived in Cumbernauld, Clan MacInnes has supported the trust since it was formed. When Donald passed away, Colin and Norma took up the reins and have been stalwart supporters ever since. When the last remaining lands of Lord Strathcona’s Glencoe Estate came up for sale in 2002, a community bid was unsuccessful and it looked as though the historic lands would be lost from the community.
But resident Alistair MacDonald, a descendant of the MacDonalds of Glencoe, secure loans to raise the £105,000 asking price and Glencoe Heritage Trust was formed.
