LIS­MORE Pri­mary School has been given a glow­ing re­port fol­low­ing a gov­ern­ment in­spec­tion.

PUPILS and staff of Lis­more Pri­mary are de­lighted with the school’s in­spec­tion re­port which was pub­lished fol­low­ing the full in­spec­tion in early May.

The in­spec­tion team high­lighted many strengths, in­clud­ing the ‘en­ter­pris­ing chil­dren who are de­vel­op­ing rel­e­vant skills for learn­ing, life and work’, ‘the staff’s sup­port and pas­sion for chil­dren’s learn­ing and achieve­ments’ and ‘par­ents and part­ners whose sup­port en­hances chil­dren’s learn­ing’.

The re­port also praised ‘the school’s unique and sup­port­ive role in the is­land com­mu­nity’ and ‘ the head teacher’s lead­er­ship of chil­dren’s learn­ing’.

The school was graded as ‘very good’ in all four of the as­sessed qual­ity in­di­ca­tors and the pre­fives unit achieved four grades of ‘good’.

Head teacher Cather­ine Davies said: ‘ This re­port is a re­flec­tion of the hard work and sup­port of ev­ery­body, both in the school and in the com­mu­nity.’
