The Oban Times - - Districts - Loch Lomond

OWNERS and staff at The Lodge on Loch Lomond climbed Ben Nevis on Wednesday June 14, raising more than £2,000 for their chosen charity, The Dream Maker Foundation.

Staff taking part all nominated charities and had a meeting to decide what one to go with.

The Dream Maker foundation had a special place in the heart of one of the organisers as her best friend’s little sister had been diagnosed with leukemia nearly two years ago.

The Dream Maker foundation had a huge impact in lifting the little girl’s spirits throughout her treatment.

The team agreed this was the charity to go for and hoped their efforts would help to make other children’s lives a bit more bearable during such a difficult time.

A Just Giving page was set up for the climb, raising more than £1,000.

After the climb was completed, with everyone making it to the top, the owners of the hotel Niall and Ann, who also took part in the climb, announced they were going to match what the staff had raised personally, bringing the total to more than £2,000.
