Gigha God’s Island

The Oban Times - - Feature -

Gigha means ‘God’s Island’ in Gaelic and visitors to this magical island may well agree. With dazzling beaches, ancient sites and sweeping views, Gigha is a tranquil emerald gem. Add to that the friendly Hebridean hospitality, and it is an ideal getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Gigha is an ideal spot for bicycling and water sports of all kinds, from sea kayaking and paddle boarding to rowboating and snorkelling. The isle was bought by the community in 2002, and now the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust manages most of the island.
