Tree-mendous! Co-op customers at root of change

The Oban Times - - Outdoors -

CO- OP customers in Caol are being given the chance to help reforest Glen Nevis with Scots pine without having to trudge around a hillside.

Thanks to the fantastic Co-op Community Fund, Co-op customers can be a part of something big by doing something small.

The Nevis Landscape Partnership is asking you to sign up to become a Co-op member and choose the charity as your community cause. Then, every time you shop, one per cent of every Co-op home brand product you buy goes directly into its Future Forests project to help reforest Glen Nevis with Great Britain’s only truly native pine, Scots pine.

To successfully support this cause and help with the tree planting, be sure to swipe your new membership card every time you shop. It really is that easy – sign up, shop, swipe, plant trees. Be sure to show your support on Facebook and Twitter, too, to help spread the word.

To date the partnership has more than 2,000 Glen Nevis pine seedlings waiting to be planted – all seeds are collected from Glen Nevis pines and nurtured locally at local schools, nurseries and community centres.

Together we can do more, the Co-op way. Follow the link to get started, www.coop.co.uk/ membership.
