One head teacher for two schools

SPEAN Bridge Pri­mary School has a new head teacher.

Kim Bent­ley, cur­rent head teacher at In­ver­garry Pri­mary School will now also man­age Spean Bridge af­ter money-sav­ing pro­pos­als, which will see head teach­ers man­age sev­eral schools at once, were ap­proved by Highland Coun­cil.

The changes will now see Spean Bridge and In­ver­garry pri­maries served by a sin­gle clus­ter head teacher and three prin­ci­pal teach­ers.

Kate McGil­lvery, who was as­so­ciate head teacher at Spean Bridge and Roy Bridge pri­mary schools, left her post at the end of the school ses­sion. The dras­tic shake-up of man­age­ment in Highland schools was voted through in Jan­uary.
