BANAVIE Primary School pupils got creative in a competition to design a new logo for Kilmallie Community Centre (KCC).
Centre volunteers ran a competition for P6/ 7 pupils to design a logo for the KCC website.
The centre unveiled the new logo, designed by Megan Pescod, at a school assembly.
KCC treasurer Sarah Kennedy said: ‘The Kilmallie Community Centre committee was delighted with the submissions from pupils from the school just up the road from the centre.
‘It was a hard decision to make but we decided on the submission from Megan Pescod. The logo brings together landmarks of the area including Ben Nevis, Loch Linnhe and the Corpach Lighthouse in the Caledonian Canal.
P6/ 7 teacher Clare Harley said: ‘ We were pleased to assist our local community centre with its request to design a logo for them. The children enjoyed the challenge.’
Everyone who took part was given a bee pencil as a thank you for their contribution and Megan was presented with two lovely cloth bags with her logo on each side and a T-shirt bearing the design.
Prizes were donated by graphic designer Armando Rodríguez Bárcenas, ARBJr Graphics and Translations, who also interpreted the original artwork for an electronic version of the logo.
The logo will now be added to the Kilmallie Community Centre letterhead and all associated documentation.
