First whisky distiller

R&B DISTILLERS has appointed the first whisky distiller for its forthcoming Isle of Raasay Distillery, which will open in September.

The search began in January with applications from around the globe. The brand is now delighted to announce the appointment of Iain Robertson.

Mr Robertson is an honours graduate of the Heriot-Watt Brewing and Distilling school. During his studies, he took a placement at North British grain distillery and worked at Edinburgh’s Scotch Whisky Experience as one of its tour guides. Mr Robertson is not only formally educated in the art and science of distilling but is innovative and enthusiastic about pushing the boundaries of the spirit.

He will be relocating to the island to join the team.
