Motorists warned to expect delays on A82

The Oban Times - - News -

DAYTIME traffic will be disrupted on the A82 south of Ballachulish Bridge until tomorrow (Friday) for road re-surfacing.

The improvement works are scheduled to take place between 7am and 7pm from today and tomorrow, with the project expected to be completed before the weekend.

The £75,000 investment by Transport Scotland will see improvements to a 400m section of the A82, ‘creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists’.

The A82 will remain open throughout. However, a 10mph convoy system of traffic management will be in place to allow the works to be carried out safely for the protection of the motorists as well as road workers.

The convoy system will be removed outside of working hours though a temporary speed restriction of 30mph will remain as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s north-west representative, said: ‘We would encourage road users to plan their journeys ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date information.’
