A WIN­DOW was bro­ken at the Whisky Shop on Fort Wil­liam High Street at 8pm on Tues­day July 18. Noth­ing was taken from the dis­play, how­ever, po­lice be­lieve this was an at­tempted theft. If any­one saw or heard any­thing sus­pi­cious they should con­tact Fort Wil­liam po­lice. PO­LICE in Lochaber have noted an in­crease in reports of anti-so­cial be­hav­iour and are mak­ing a pos­si­ble link to young­sters be­ing bored as this is the school hol­i­days.

Large num­bers of youths are con­gre­gat­ing and en­ter­ing derelict premises through­out the area. Po­lice have li­aised with High­land Coun­cil com­mu­nity war­dens to help pre­vent any es­ca­la­tion of bad be­hav­iour and are dis­cour­ag­ing youths from en­ter­ing any build­ing sites as they are dan­ger­ous. Mem­bers of the pub­lic should re­port any in­ci­dent to po­lice us­ing the non- emer­gency num­ber 101.
