Party as Tiree woman is awarded her BEM

A TIREE woman who is the long­est-serv­ing mem­ber of the is­land’s fire ser­vice was pre­sented with her BEM by the Lord Lieu­tenant last week.

Mar­garet Wors­ley, who has also been work­ing as an out­reach worker for Cuiram Thiri­odh for the past three years, was praised for go­ing above and beyond for mem­bers of the com­mu­nity.

The Lord Lieu­tenant for Ar­gyll and Bute, Pa­trick Ste­wart, trav­elled to Tiree to present Mar­garet with her medal, which took place at a cel­e­bra­tory lunch held in the Scarin­ish Ho­tel.

Mar­garet was sur­rounded by fam­ily, friends, col­leagues and other Cuiram vol­un­teers and com­mit­tee mem­bers, who all joined her to cel­e­brate this well- de­served award.
