LOCH Lomond and the Trossachs National Park wants to find local heroes and thank them for their work.

The community partnership for the national park distributes annual Champion Awards recognising the work that organisations and individuals carry out.

Last year, one of the winners was Callander-based Lynne Schroder.

She is a founding member of Creative in Callander, a not-forprofit organisation run by artists and makers to support local arts and crafts.

Ms Schroder said: ‘Receiving the award was a great honour but it’s a community thing.

‘I could not have done it without Jimmy [my husband] and the amazing volunteers on the ground.

‘I hope it inspires others to learn that volunteering gives you back more than you can give.’
