Pedes­trian killed in Glen­coe crash

A MAN has died fol­low­ing a crash on the A82 near Alt­nafeadh in Glen­coe.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened about noon on Tues­day (Septem­ber 12) and in­volved a Fiat camper­van and a male pedes­trian, who died at the scene.

The oc­cu­pants of the camper­van were un­in­jured.

The man’s next of kin have been in­formed and a re­port will be sub­mit­ted to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal.

The road was closed for sev­eral hours to al­low for a col­li­sion in­ves­ti­ga­tion to take place.

Sergeant Gre­gor Hay said: ‘Our thoughts at this time are with ev­ery­one af­fected by this tragic in­ci­dent.

‘Our en­quiries are on­go­ing and I would ap­peal to any­one who wit­nessed the col­li­sion to con­tact us as soon as pos­si­ble. Please call the road polic­ing unit in Fort Wil­liam on 101, quot­ing ref­er­ence R050438, with any in­for­ma­tion.’
