Cairndow childcare centre dream a step closer
A GROUP in Cowal is fundraising for a purpose-built childcare centre in Cairndow.
Cairndow Community Childcare was delighted earlier this year when the Big Lottery fund agreed to pay half the cost of the project.
The non-profit-making group now hopes to raise £50,000 to cover the other half of the costs, with the aim of starting construction in April next year.
Alison Hutchins, chairwoman of Cairndow Community Childcare, said: We have been working hard for five years and have had tremendous support from local businesses. But we need a final push to get the funding completed so we can start building.
‘We are pleased to launch to crowdfunding page and would appeal to everyone to visit, donate and pass on. We are confident we can reach our target and start building in April 2018.
‘We are also running fundraising events, including Heron Valley playing at a ceilidh on Saturday October 21 at the village hall. The commitment of our staff, the support of the local community and the generosity of local businesses have been key factors in getting this far, so big thanks to them.’
So far, more than £2,000 has been raised on the crowdfunding page. To donate, visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/ the-new-build.
