North Con­nel an­gler wins Mal­loch Tro­phy

An an­gler from North Con­nel has been awarded The Mal­loch Tro­phy for catch­ing the big­gest salmon in Scot­land on a fly.

The tro­phy was pre­sented to Tom Bon­ni­well who caught a 47-inch salmon weigh­ing between 40 and 44lbs in the River Awe in Septem­ber last year.

The Mal­loch Tro­phy is run by the Tay Foun­da­tion and is pre­sented to the an­gler who has caught the big­gest salmon in Scot­land on a fly, which they have then re­leased.

En­tries are still open for the 2018 tro­phy and any­one in­ter­ested should get in touch with Inga MacGillivray at the Tay Foun­da­tion on 01738 583733.
