North Connel angler wins Malloch Trophy
An angler from North Connel has been awarded The Malloch Trophy for catching the biggest salmon in Scotland on a fly.
The trophy was presented to Tom Bonniwell who caught a 47-inch salmon weighing between 40 and 44lbs in the River Awe in September last year.
The Malloch Trophy is run by the Tay Foundation and is presented to the angler who has caught the biggest salmon in Scotland on a fly, which they have then released.
Entries are still open for the 2018 trophy and anyone interested should get in touch with Inga MacGillivray at the Tay Foundation on 01738 583733.
Tom Bonniwell, with his children Lucas and Mia, receive The Malloch Trophy from Inga MacGillivray from the Tay Foundation.
