Oban Sea Kayak Race has wind­fall for lifeboat

The or­gan­is­ers of the Oban Sea Kayak Race pre­sented a cheque to the Oban lifeboat and crew mem­bers for the sum of £1,500, the pro­ceeds from the 2018 Oban Sea Kayak Race, which took place on Satur­day Au­gust 25.

This takes the to­tal do­nated to the Oban lifeboat from this event since its first race in

2010 to £18,600.

Oban Sea Kayak Race would like to thank the fol­low­ing for their help, with­out which, the event could not take place: Neil Math­e­son, Dr Erik Jes­persen, Struan and Cameron Smith of Coastal Con­nec­tion and to Dr Hue Forbes, man­ager of the Kil­bowie Out­door Cen­tre for the use of the cen­tre and fa­cil­i­ties dur­ing the race.

The or­gan­is­ers would also like to thank all the busi­nesses and in­di­vid­u­als around Oban Bay who con­tinue to sup­port and spon­sor this event and make it the suc­cess it has be­come.
