is a photographer and film director based in New York City. Her work focuses primarily on American youth culture and marginal communities. She always tries to showcase the underrepresented and to celebrate diversity, so she found a kindred spirit in Jill Soloway, the creator of Transparent, who she shot for our cover story (p8).
started life as a reporter on the Grimsby Evening Telegraph, before going on to become the youngest political editor of a newspaper when she joined the Observer in 2004. She’s now a Guardian and Grazia columnist, and the author of Half a Wife. This week she writes about the cult of narcissism and how it affects us – and society at large (p15).
