is the travel ed­i­tor at the Guardian and a free­lance writer. She’s also a qual­i­fied yoga teacher – and com­bines her two pas­sions in our round-up on fan­tas­tic yoga re­treats around the world (p46), from Morocco to Mon­tene­gro and from Bali to Ibiza.

Danielle Le­vitt

is a pho­tog­ra­pher and film di­rec­tor based in New York City. Her work fo­cuses pri­mar­ily on Amer­i­can youth cul­ture and mar­ginal com­mu­ni­ties. She al­ways tries to show­case the un­der­rep­re­sented and to cel­e­brate di­ver­sity, so she found a kin­dred spirit in Jill Soloway, the cre­ator of Trans­par­ent, who she shot for our cover story (p8).

Gaby Hinsliff

started life as a re­porter on the Grimsby Evening Tele­graph, be­fore go­ing on to be­come the youngest po­lit­i­cal ed­i­tor of a news­pa­per when she joined the Ob­server in 2004. She’s now a Guardian and Grazia colum­nist, and the au­thor of Half a Wife. This week she writes about the cult of nar­cis­sism and how it af­fects us – and so­ci­ety at large (p15).
