One more thing…

The Observer Magazine - - Up Front -

Two Cottingley Fairy photos are going up for auction, valued at just £2,000. Which seems criminally cheap, to me, for these icons of early photography, that hold in them such trickery and faith, and desperation to believe. If anyone wants to chip in…

I rarely use the word hate, but in the case of

Senator Lindsey Graham,

I feel it’s the appropriate term. Watching him spit and rage at bratty Brett Kavanaugh’s supreme court nomination hearing, I found that I was screaming at the screen.

But do you know what made me feel much better? Cher’s Abba album. I mean, of course I adore Abba, I’m a human being made of flesh and heart (I can make myself cry just by thinking about Slipping Through My Fingers), but Cher elevates these songs even beyond their original joy. She is living glitter, and

I love her with a pure and marvellous passion.
