CARDIFF (0) 1 Bamba 90 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY (1) 1 Hooper 39 Att: 19,137

Neil Warnock praised his Cardiff players for their “never-say-die attitude” after Sol Bamba’s stoppage-time equaliser saved them against Sheffield Wednesday. Gary Hooper’s 39th-minute header looked like handing Wednesday a rare victory in the Welsh capital, but Bamba secured a 1-1 draw in the fourth minute of added time. Wednesday’s Carlos Carvalhal felt his side deserved more out of the game. “We are disappointed because we lost two points, we scored one goal and I thought we could achieve a second one.”

FOREST (0) 1 Carayol 75 WOLVES (0) 2 Jota 47, 81 Att: 25,756

Nuno Espírito Santo warned the rest of the Championship that Jota and Wolves are only going to get stronger after a 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest. Jota, on loan from Atlético Madrid, struck twice in the second half to lead Wolves to victory. “Jota, like all the other players, is getting better and growing with every game. He can get better; he can improve still.” Mark Warburton was disappointed that Forest mistakes were a key factor in both Wolves goals. “We knew that if we gave the ball away, they would punish us. And they did.”
