Aus­tralia were dev­as­tat­ing in at­tack as they brushed aside Ja­pan 63-30 in Yoko­hama be­fore they head to Europe to face stiffer op­po­si­tion in Wales on Satur­day and then Eng­land and Scot­land.

The Wal­la­bies scored five unan­swered tries in the first half at the Nis­san Sta­dium, the venue for the 2019 World Cup fi­nal, be­fore cross­ing for four more af­ter the break.

Te­vita Kuridrani ran in a hat-trick and his cen­tre part­ner, Samu Kerevi, grabbed two tries. Henry Speight, Tatafu PolotaNau, Rob Sim­mons and Nick Phipps also scored.

“I was happy with about 60 min­utes of our play but we turned the ball over too many times,” the Aus­tralia cap­tain, Michael Hooper, said. Reuters
