An ar­ti­cle (“Far-right poised for surge as Swe­den goes to the polls”, page 32) said that the So­cial Democrats “have won ev­ery Swedish elec­tion since 1917”. To clar­ify: that party has re­ceived the largest share of the vote in ev­ery elec­tion since that year; they have not sub­se­quently al­ways been in gov­ern­ment, as “won” might im­ply.

Ge­og­ra­phy cor­ner: in last week’s mag­a­zine, when list­ing ad­ver­tised jobs on par­adise is­lands, we lo­cated As­cen­sion Is­land in the Pa­cific Ocean rather than the South At­lantic Ocean (“Ap­ply here...”, page 21) and, in the travel sec­tion, we mis­placed the Crown Ho­tel, Wood­bridge, Suf­folk, in the neigh­bour­ing county of Es­sex (“Rooms at the inn”, page 40).
