The Oldie - - READERS' LETTERS -

SIR: I must say that I was not impressed by your inclusion in the Oldie of the Year section (March issue) of Craig Brown’s piece on Lady Colin Campbell. The fact that she ate a turkey’s testicles and other questionable things does not in my eyes make her an admirable figure. What really rankled, however, was this appearing in an article alongside the courageous Aung San Suu Kyi. Not only is she one of the bravest people of the late 20th/21st century, she has gone through her ordeals with the kind of humility and care for her fellow human beings that could teach us all how to live in harmony in this troubled world.

Chris Gorman, Livingston, Scotland.
