Brit dies in re­sort row

A BRITISH man cel­e­brat­ing his 36th birth­day with his wife in Tener­ife has died af­ter a late-night brawl.

The un­named man suf­fered a head in­jury in the fight in which a “wet floor” sign was thrown at him.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at around mid­night on Fri­day and the man died in hos­pi­tal in the early hours of yes­ter­day.

It is thought the man and his wife had ar­gued with an­other British cou­ple.

It was re­ported that a man, 26, and his wife had been ar­rested.

Paramedics called to the ho­tel in the re­sort of Puerto de San­ti­ago, 10 miles north of Playa de las Améri­cas, found the vic­tim ly­ing in a pool of blood.

They treated him at the scene be­fore tak­ing him to hos­pi­tal.
