Kids’ burial fees boost
ANOTHER council has supported the campaign to abolish charges for burying children.
Oxford Council became the latest of several authorities to scrap the fees during an emotional meeting.
Cllr Mark Lygo, who lost a child in 1999, said: “My wife was nearly full term and it was very traumatic.
“One of the stresses was trying to find the money.”
He urged every council to waive the charges for the 5,000 people who tragically lose a youngster every year.
