Top chippy has its eye on star fish
A FISH and chip shop could become the first ever to win a Michelin star.
Kingfisher Fish and Chips, named last month as Britain’s best chippy, is now set for a visit from the dining bible’s experts.
They can choose from 13 types of fish, with a large cod and chips costing £8.55.
But there is also haddock, hake, sardine fishcakes, salmon goujons – and even lobster and chips.
Craig Maw, who runs the chippy at Plymouth, Devon, with partner Nikki Mutton, said: “It’s about time the fish and chip industry got this level of recognition.
“You don’t just get cod and haddock now.”
He added: “Neither of us have eaten in a Michelinstarred restaurant – but we’re delighted Michelin are considering us.”
Guide officials said: “We are aware of this establishment and our inspectors are taking it into consideration when they visit Plymouth.” SIX government officials were forced to apologise after dozing off during a meeting on how to motivate lazy workers in Hubei, China.
