SAS raid on.. the archives
A CURIOUS claim from BBC2’s SAS: Rogue Warriors host Ben Macintyre on the regiment’s origins: “The story of how it came into existence has been a closely guarded secret.
“Now, for the first time, the SAS has agreed to open up its archives and allow me to reveal the true story of their formation.”
Cue a 1987 interview “hidden away for decades” with founder David Stirling saying: “That band of vagabonds had to grasp what they had to do.”
