Macfamily had it hard
SUPERSTAR f i ghter Conor McGregor may have inherited his tough streak from his ancestors, a search of his family tree reveals.
The UFC lightweight champ’s family lived in deep poverty in Dublin at the turn of the 20th century and had frequent brushes with the law.
His great-great grandad Albert McGregor was heavily tattooed – like Conor – and was jailed five times.
Wife Mary and their son Albert Jnr also had spells inside, online genealogy service Findmypast found.
Conor, 28, gave a clue to his past when he tweeted last year: “I am simply doing what my ancestors were doing long before me.”
And he has said: “We come bulletproof in Ireland. We’re reared tough.”
The star is worth £17million and is targeting a £100million clash with boxer Floyd Mayweather, 40.
