FORMER Education Secretary Nicky Morgan reckons some British parents are more interested in taking their children to Disneyland than taking an interest in their education.

Speaking in a Commons debate the Tory MP agreed with a Labour member who had said the best performing students in poor areas of South London tended to be ethnic minorities. But she added: “If you walk around Chinatown on a Saturday morning you willwil see the childre children sitting there, often in their parents res restaurants, a actually d doing their ho homework.

“It always str struck me when I was Secretary of State that around the world young people and their families fight for education, and sometimes in this country parents f i ght to take children to Disneyland.”

It always struck me that patronising Morgan should never have become Secretary of State in the first place.
