RAF see off Russia jets

RAF fighter planes were scrambled to confront two Russian aircraft that entered UK airspace.

The two Typhoon jets, part of the RAF’s Quick Reaction Alert air defence, t ook off f r om RAF Lossiemouth in north east Scotland yesterday.

The MOD said: “Both aircraft returned safely.”

The incident comes after RAF fighters were sent to monitor two Russian Tupolev TU-160 Blackjack bombers in February.
