Hol rip-off for singles

-

SINGLE parents are ripped off when they take their kids on holiday because they miss special deals.

Research shows mums and dads travelling on their own with one child could pay 28 per cent more for the same holiday than two adults with one child.

Currency dealer FairFX compared all- inclusive breaks sold by firms including Airtours, Thomas Cook, First Choice, Virgin and Thomson. It found free child places and other deals are often only valid if two adults are travelling.

Ian Strafford-Taylor, CEO of FairFX, urged firms to be more flexible.

He said: “It’s crazy, the pricing models they use are from a different century.”
