ANYONE out there believe Sam Allardyce when he says that’s him finished with football? No, me neither. Apart from the fact that he has a clause in his contract saying Crystal Palace will be entitled to compensation if he returns within a set time frame. Promises in football are cheap. The sport is littered with people saying one thing and doing another.

But when someone puts their cash on the table, that’s when it gets serious.

Sam (above) won’t return... until the Eagles’ compensation clause expires.
