With Bag refund with your credit card

-

IF you’re buying something that costs £100 or more then using your credit card can be a great insurance policy if things go wrong.

This is thanks to section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, which provides that, when certain circumstances are met, credit card providers must refund consumers when their rights are breached.

In theory this is great. But the problem is that card providers are constantly trying to block people’s claims.

John in Basingstoke made a claim to his card provider but they responded by simply saying that it was unsuccessful.

My thoughts: I hear this a lot and I’m convinced that many card providers have a policy of rejecting most claims without good cause. If your claim is rejected go back and protest. THE PAYPAL PROBLEM

Henry in Scunthorpe bought furniture online with his credit card via PayPal.

The furniture never materialised so he made a section 75 claim. His card provider rejected the claim.

My thoughts: Unfortunately, they were right to do so as section 75 applies only when there is a direct payment between the card
