OXLADE AT EXIT DOOR

- By John Cross

ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN has been left deeply frustrated by ARSENAL’S lack of action on a new contract – and that could see him leave this summer. Oxlade-Chamberlain has only a year left on his deal and was expecting Arsenal to begin formal talks, but they have yet to offer him new terms. That has thrown his future into doubt with LIVERPOOL, CHELSEA and MANCHESTER CITY all watching developments. Liverpool are long-term admirers of the 23-year-old (right) while Chelsea and City are poised to move in. The England international finished the season strongly, having played both in midfield and at wing-back and was one ofArsenal’s best players during the run-in. Oxlade-Chamberlain was told to expect quick progress but Arsenal have failed to begin formal talks. The Gunners have got a big issue with contracts this summer – failing to tie down big-name duoAlexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, even though they only have one year left on their respective deals. Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Poland keeper Wojciech Szczesny also have only a year left on their deals and Arsenal seem to be making little progress.
