Bigger doses stop strokes

A SUPER-strength flu jab can help stop elderly people suffering strokes and heart attacks.

A study of 38,000 nursing home residents in the US found that giving a vaccination with four times the normal dose cut hospital admissions for respiratory illness by 12.7 per cent.

Each winter thousands of older people are struck down by lung infections that increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
