Brexit plea by bosses
OUR captains of industry today send a message to EU negotiators, ordering them: “Get a bloody move on.”
Next month, bosses will begin drawing up business plans for 2019, when the UK is due to leave the EU.
And they will have to work on the assumption there will be no deal unless progress is made rapidly.
An open letter signed by bosses at 100 of Britain’s biggest firms says: “The risk of no deal remains real and has to be planned for, with inevitable consequences for jobs and growth.”
The business leaders want a three-year transitional arrangement.
