Re­venge is not cricket

A GROUNDSMAN fired by Der­byshire County Cricket Club took re­venge hours be­fore a match.

Chris Hal­lam, 33, caused £ 3,000 of dam­age by slash­ing cov­ers and pour­ing liq­uid into a ma­chine.

Hal­lam, of Derby, did not know the club had in­stalled CCTV since his sack­ing. At city mag­is­trates he ad­mit­ted crim­i­nal dam­age and was given an eightweek sus­pended jail term, a 12-week cur­few and was told to pay £3,000 compo.
