Face post nails thief

A BUR­GLAR filmed steal­ing wed­ding rings and kids’ pocket money is be­hind bars thanks to Face­book.

Po­lice col­lared Colin Elli­nor af­ter home se­cu­rity footage from two raids were posted on so­cial me­dia.

Elli­nor, 55, was caught on a mo­tion-sen­sor cam­era af­ter smash­ing a win­dow with a brick at a home in Climp­ing, West Sus­sex.

He took £3,000 in cash and jew­ellery, in­clud­ing two wed­ding rings, and cash from kids’ money boxes.

A re­tired cop recog­nised Elli­nor from the Face­book post and alerted po­lice.

Seven­teen days later he was again caught on mo­tion sen­sor cam­eras, try­ing to break into a house in Bog­nor Regis. The im­ages were shared on Face­book.

At Lewes crown court Elli­nor, of no fixed ad­dress, ad­mit­ted bur­glary and at­tempted bur­glary.

He was jailed for a to­tal of three years.

DC Jon Wool­ley, from the West Sus­sex Com­mu­nity In­ves­ti­ga­tion Team, said: “So­cial me­dia played a key role in bring­ing this pro­lific bur­glar to jus­tice.” FIRE­MEN with grinders spent three hours free­ing a man whose pe­nis was stuck in the hole of a 2.5kilo gym weight in Worms, Ger­many.
